Hey all!
Camp Lilac is a summer camp in Ohio for transgender and gender nonconforming kids ages 13 – 17.
I picked the name for this camp! It was co-started by family members of mine when I was a kid, for myself and individuals like me. It means a lot to me and those who attend. I don’t always attend every summer, but over the years as both a camper and staff, I’ve met many wonderful people here. If you’re a young transgender or gender nonconforming individual, it’s a place made welcome just for you! Where you fit in with everyone else, and get to do normal, stress-free, everyday kid things; an experience that is not often afforded to transgender youth.
For those 18 and up, we are also always looking for volunteer counselors, preferably of the same demographic. Staff is friendly and we make just as meaningful experiences together.
My production work is not directly affiliated with Camp Lilac, but I wanted to take the moment to boost this thing which is important to me.
